Claflen Associates worked with CORA Services, Inc. in Northeast Philadelphia to create a new headquarters building for their organization. This 45,000 square foot building houses a mixture of uses, including offices, counseling and meeting rooms, classrooms and a day care center.
The building provides for the varied use patterns of CORA’s activities through its setting into the gently sloping site at Susquehanna and Verree Roads. The building is oriented at an angle to enhance the views from its offices and to improve energy performance.
The siting also permits direct access to both the first and second floors. The public entrance faces Verree Road on the second floor with a skylit lobby that serves training rooms, counseling areas, and the other floors. The pre-school, on the lower level, has direct access from a safe drop off area, and a secure playground.
